BIOGRAPHY
Pastor Hope M. Porter, RN, Esq.
Hope M. Porter, RN, Esq. is a wife, mother, nurse, attorney, author, and serial entrepreneur. A native of Baltimore City, Hope earned a BSN in Nursing from Howard University. Moved by the advocacy role in nursing, Hope furthered her educational passions and career pursuits by attending law school at the University of Maryland. Maintaining both careers, Hope worked as a psychiatric nurse and later served as the Director of Legal Affairs at Coppin State University.
In 2003, Hope, along with her college sweetheart, David Porter, founded D.H. Porter Enterprises, LLC, which would later become known as Staffing Etc. From a small local staffing company, Staffing Etc. has grown into a multi-million-dollar regional and national supplier of health services and talent acquisition services. Its client base includes the Department of Defense, Centers for Disease Control, Veterans Administration, hospital systems, prisons, school systems such as Prince George’s County Schools, and health insurance providers.
Staffing Etc. has provided more than two million hours of professional staffing services, including physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals. With offices in Lanham, Maryland, and Colorado Springs, Colorado, Staffing Etc. employs more than 250 personnel, including 125 full-time employees. As President and CEO, Hope oversees and manages all aspects of the company’s operations.
In 2015, Pastor Hope, along with her two sons, founded Jourve, a travel mobile concierge app available in the app store. Jourve has contracts with BWI Airport and a pending new location at Philadelphia International Airport. In 2017, while launching Jourve, Pastor Hope acquired BWI Speedy Park, an airport long-term parking establishment providing 24/7 shuttle service and parking for airport travelers. BWI Speedy Park has served more than 200,000 customers. In 2019, BWI Speedy Park became a parking supplier to Amazon.
In 2012, Hope and David founded The Armari Group, a real estate holding and investment firm. One of the firm’s acquisitions includes the former Prince George’s Journal/Hazmed Building located in Lanham, Maryland.
Hope M. Porter also serves as Pastor and co-founder of The Excel Church of Bowie alongside her husband of 30 years. This nondenominational ministry was founded in 2011 and currently worships at Regal Bowie Cinemas. The mission of the ministry is to help its members excel spiritually, physically, and mentally through abundant living.
In 2019, Excel Church founded ABOUND, a nonprofit organization providing housing to homeless veterans in Prince George’s County, Maryland.
In 2014, Hope and David authored the book I Do, Now What? A Conversation on Marriage.
Hope M. Porter, RN, Esq. resides in Bowie, Maryland, with her husband.
